Powoli zbliżamy się do końca roku, okresu podsumowań, postanowień i słynnej już obietnicy „nowy rok, nowa ja”. Zanim jednak odliczymy do zera i przywitamy kolejny rok w szampańskim nastroju, w gronie najbliższych przyjaciół, z partnerem lub partnerką, na hucznej imprezie lub w zaciszu domowym, po drodze mamy do odhaczenia święta Bożego Narodzenia. Zapach piernika, grzaniec, Mariah Carey, „Holiday” czy „Dziennik Bridget Jones” skłaniają nas do wczucia się w klimat okresu świątecznego, nawet jeśli nie jesteśmy największymi fanami i fankami obchodów dwudziestego czwartego grudnia. Jak oddać się nastrojowi świąt i w pełni cieszyć się z tych kilku zimowych tygodni?
Jeszcze jakiś czas temu świąteczne swetry nie cieszyły się ogromną popularnością. Czerwone i zielone dzianinowe ubrania z motywem choinek, świętego Mikołaja, pierników czy lizaków w kształcie laski kojarzyły się raczej z kiczem. Dziś jednak z chęcią i odrobiną pożądania zerkamy na kreatywne swetry i golfy z zabawnymi obrazkami czy pięknymi, świątecznymi przeszyciami. Wiemy jednak, że nie każdy i każda z nas jest gotowy lub gotowa na czerwone okrycie z wielkim reniferem na samym środku. Wybrałyśmy więc kilka modeli świątecznych swetrów z popularnych sieciówek, które bez problemu zaspokoją świąteczne potrzeby minimalistek oraz osób, które w subtelny sposób chcą cieszyć się magią nadchodzących świąt.

Traditionally, Christmas jumpers – while a lot of fun – haven't had very much sartorial standing. As such, I've always swerved garish, novelty knitwear in favour of a sequin dress or an Isabel Marant-inspired sheer, sparkly top when it comes to my Christmas Day outfit choice. But something inside of me has changed this year.
Perhaps it's the fact that Christmas is officially back on after two very touch-and-go holiday seasons (my whole family rolled up with COVID in 2021), or perhaps it's the plethora of genuinely-quite-nice Christmas jumpers that have landed on the high street for 2022. Either way, Christmas jumpers seem to have finally met the word “chic” and made it onto my Christmas party wish list as a result. Who'd have ever guessed it?
If you don't quite believe me, I've curated an edit of stylish Christmas jumpers down below that I'm pretty sure will have you persuaded. Lots of them are from Warehouse's newly-dropped collaboration with artist Tatiana Alida (it's much bigger than last year's sell-out drop and serves up a Christmas sweater rebrand for a cool yuletide), while others take inspiration from Princess Diana's penchant for knitwear adorned in llamas, embroidered baubles, sheep and fair isle knit. This week's release of The Crown Season 5 has got me swooning over her off-duty layering looks once again.
Elsewhere, you'll find some designer Christmas jumpers which aren't technically Christmas-specific, making them a significantly more sustainable choice. Slightly glitzier than your autumnal jumper but understated enough to wear for every month of the season all the same, they come fresh from AW22 collections by Lingua Franca, Palm Angels, Perfect Moment and my fave Isabel Marant. No jingle bells, tinsel or snowflakes in sight.
