Karl Lagerfeld od lat wybiera nietypowe miejsca na swoje pokazy i aranżuje je tak, by przypominały teatralną stylizację. Mieliśmy już pokaz Chanel na terminalu lotniska, rodeo, czy supermarkecie. Ostatnia prezentacja kolekcji Chanel Haute Couture jesień-zima 2016/2017 miała miejsce w pracowni krawieckiej zbudowanej w Grand Palais w Paryżu. Dzięki użyciu zabytkowych maszyn do szycia, stołów, luster i tkanin udało się odtworzyć klimat dawnego atelier Coco Chanel przy Rue Cambon, gdzie do tej pory mieści się flagowy butik marki.

Nawiązania do Coco Chanel pojawiły się także w samej kolekcji - tweedowe żakiety, złote kamelie i spodnie kuloty. W kwestii kolorów dominowały jesienne odcienie brązu, pomarańczu, beżu i szarości wzbogacone są o paletę różu, czarnych i białych tonów. W kolekcji haute couture uwagę przyciągają detale, m.in. hafty, pióra, plisy, delikatne fałdy na tkaninach i szlachetne kamienie.
Głównym punktem każdej kolekcji Chanel jest stylizacja dla panny młodej. Tym razem, Karl zaprojektował gorset i spodnie z koronki, tiulu i satyny z różową nicią, a dodatkowo okrycie-welon z białej wełny i piór.
